Looking to update my clutching for my 2008 MCX rear mount 174inch with head shim. I have been running around 12 to 14 pounds and want to move up in boost. Have supertips in the sled now and stock helix. Should I put a shockwave in the secondary? Going to Cooke City in a couple weeks and would like to try some changes. Thanks in advance.

The shockwave is a good alternative for the secondary but a lot of guys make the mistake of using it to tune rpms, do that with your supertips. Lots of mountain riders run a straight 47 degree helix. I run a dual rate helix at 49/41 and I love it. It gets out of the hole quick and holds the top end.

Where do you get you dual rate helix? I am wanting to run around 18 to 20 pounds in Cooke. Have any idea on grams on the supertips? Sould I just add some weight on the tip? Would the Yamaha dealer in Cooke City know any ideas? The sled was built at that dealer.
