Supercross 2012!

Ricky Carmichael IS and WILL ALWAYS BE the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. I believe Bubba was faster then than he is now because RC pushed him like nobody in the game now can. #7 can lay down a faster lap than any rider out there today. We all agree he is not consistent, but you cant deny his speed. It really is too bad that the GOAT retired when he did, but he had accomplished what he set out to do and was also fighting medical issues (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia) that helped force him out. And why not go out on top when you are still young and can do other things you have the oportunity for like he did. I think he made a smart decision.

Comparing Stewart to 199 is pointless. Completely different athletes at opposite ends of the spectrum. It is very cool though to watch the video when RC, Bubba, and Pastrana were like 8 years old and all hanging out together. Who knew what an impact each one of them would have in the motocross world! All 3 are superstars.

trikerider: there is no reason to get racist on here. Thats a bunch of BS

Not that opposite, 199 was a moto prodigy, he just had troubles with "shiney things" and "squirrel!!!".

I don't think RC retired because he was afraid that Bubba was faster. If that were the case RC would have something to prove and would have stayed to show that he could beat Bubba and do it again and again. RC proved that he could beat the entire field, so there was nothing left for him to do.

As far as Bubba catching RC's win record, it will never happen. He is too out of control and those wipeouts he takes will catch his body and shut him down. You can't ride that aggressive and compete if your body is in pain.

And as far as attitude, he carries the same cocky, look at me attitude as all other professional athletes like himself.

So would you have said 199 was the most talented back when he did what was it Lorocos Leap on a 125 when nobody else was? Or heck look at some of the fmx guys, they are doing stuff on a bike Bubba never would. Or any number of guys who ride hard enduros.

I do wish someone with Bubbas apparent skill set could have the personality of K-dub. Straight wins, Bubba always will smoke Kdub, but the other stuff Kdub has him beat worse then a rented mule.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge Bubba fan. I'm just saying I enjoy watching him race, because he does stuff, that nobody else in the world can do right now. I wish he had the personality of KDub. He was one of the coolest guys I've ever met. He actually took the time to take a picture with my kids, when he was getting ready to go practice. I've liked him ever since.

You can't really compare 199 to Bubba though. TP only raced a few races, and never won a SX race. Always been a freestyler, and that's a whole different game than racing. I'm sure there's freestyle guys that could clear the jumps that Bubba does, but I'd like to see them in the whoops, and see how they corner. They couldn't even compete with any of the Supercross racers.

Right but wasn't 199 an outdoor champ? He had the skill set and talent to win races, ride whoops and corner, he just didn't have the passion IMO.

Should be another entertaining series. If I was a betting man, the house would be on RV to take it again.:face-icon-small-win

RV1 - peolpe forget he shoulda/coulda/woulda won the 2010 SX number plate if not for injury, soooo hes the best racer in the last two seasons the way i see it, dungey is just another CR, wins when the faster guy gets injured or goes down.

CR22 - most will say hes just too competitive, ill say hes a negative nancy who has nothing nice to say and will cut the throat of anyone who stands in his way, this is the reason so many peolpe dislike him and the real reason he has chit for sponsorship and the big names wont pay him the money he thinks hes worth, he will always be a douche.....but im thrilled he stepped up last year and helped the sport move forward. just wish he would smile and say "hey, i was just not the fastest guy on there today"

RD5 - oh wow he came in 3rd, seems to be on par with last year

TC - everyone wants him back and to push the pack

JS7 - peolpe will suggest he has an inferior bike, im not sure about that, whoever i am sure his front end loves to cut left and dive hard.....i assume this has something to do with his extreamly aggressive riding style, whatever it is im just about sick of hoping he will come back to numbero uno. Notice re rode so conservitve in A1, i bet JGR has him on a tight leash.....this is not some mom n pop mufler shop race team, this is the big time, no one and i mena no one has brought such attention and money to this sport, we as fans not get 11 live races on speed channel, the fans and racers owe alot to number 7 just like golfers owe a chit ton to tiger woods.

MA - glad to see this "two laps and done" scrub racing for himself this year, douche
