Summit Snobunje question

I have a 2006 Summit and I am trying to get a Snobunje bag set up on the back of the tunnel. I thought this will work out great because I have the hooks on the sides of the tunnels and I will just run the straps of the bag through them and be done. Well I cannot unhook the straps all the way on from the buckle without cutting one of the straps. On the back side of one of the buckles the strap is sewn together to make a loop and it is too big to get through the buckle. I can cut the loop so then I can run the strap through the tie down hooks on the side of the tunnel. But before I do that I thought I would ask if someone has come up with a good system with these bags for holding it down. Thanks.

I ran into the same problem, but came up with a fairly cheap solution. Some might even call me W.T. for the solution, but it has worked great for me. I just went to the local hardware store and bought some (6-you would only need 4) small U-bolts along with some locking nuts that would fit through the space. I then slightly bent the hooks on the tunnel with some channel locks, so that I could put the nuts on the backside. Then I just simply had to put the straps through the U-bolt. I have a 159 and by doing this I have been able to get the underseat gas can and two snowbunje bags on it. The U-bolts don't stick out much and I personally don't think that it looks bad at all. The set up works great and I can take the bags on and off pretty easy this way.
