Summit Piston Problem?

The guys I ride with all ride Ski-Doo's and all have had piston problems. I was wondering if this is just us, or is this common? If it is common, when should I replace my pistons?

I have a 2001, but my buddies ride 2003.5 to 2007's and they have all lost pistons or replaced them.

Does anyone know where I can get information on the piston recalls for 2001 Summit 800s? When should I replace the pistons?

just call a dealer and give him you vin number he can tell you if it was done to the sled and how many miles were on it when done

the ski doo race program used to say 1000 miles on the old bullet proof 583 and 670 and if you are a mountian rider your miles are like race miles and the 800 seem to have piston problems i would change every 1000 miles and i would use pistons and a head from bj or rk tech becuase of the ski doo ring heat soak issues just my 2 cents
