Hello, just wondering if an 03 primary will work on an 01. Both 800s. Thanks

Yes, as long as the 03 is not an early build rev, they had the 12 -14 degree faces.

The 03 is a 1.5 width belt system (and variable sheave angle (VSA))
Your current model is 1-3/8 belt width.

What you will more than likely have to do is...
1) run the 417300391 2012 summit 800 drive belt (or aftermarket equivalent) for the correct belt width and
2) add an additional shim inside the secondary clutch to make the secondary the correct width for the new drive belt, then adjust the deflection accordingly.

You could calibrate the 03 primary just like it was a 2003 sport 800 summit, same internals and hammer down.

Thanks for the info guys. Joe, any chance you've got one for an 01 laying around. He's got new internals so cond isn't that important. He had new everything. Rolled it way down a big slope, small side cover poped off. Acted like a scope and packed the clutch side solid. Anyway, took the bushing out then broke a chunk off the cap.
