suggestion on bibs?? FXR, HMK, Castle???

Im looking for a good set of bibs. I have settled on bibs and need waterproof anf breathable for mountain riding....sweating and not getting wet and cold afterwards.
Searched and searched and heard great things about HMK, FXR and of course Klim. Sorry, still cant justify 400 for Klims.
I found the HMK Actions' liner to be too bulky. I may consider the HMK stealth pants cause of great review. If anyones had the FXR vertical or backshift please chime in or any other review. Please be specific with brand and type.

I would check out the CKX line of snowmobile gear if you are looking for good gear at a reasonable price.

I have the Carbon 2 jacket and X style 2 bibs. I really like them both. I have had them since the begining of this year but they have held up good so far.

Shade Tree Powersports has the best price on this line of gear.

I love my FXR bibs!

MY legs are always warm and sweat free! I have NOT gotten wet at all this year and there is no other bib i would buy. Removable shoulder straps, large pockets, vents, very durably, and look awesome!

Spending the extra money on FXR is worth it!!!!!

everything HMK makes is pretty darn good, so i'd go with HMK bibs.. i love my pair.
FXR and Castle X is for ditch bangers trying to be like a factory sno-x racer IMO

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say

Have you ever looked at any FXR gear and checked out the features/quality and then compared. I spent a good 4 hours comparing Klim, HMK, and FXR gear at the show last year when I bought all new stuff. I looked at all the features, what was important to me, etc.

I ended up buying the FXR Adrenaline gear and love it.

On a side note I'd never buy anything other than black. One too many times have I seen people ruin really nice gear my it getting dirty with grease, etc.

Thanks guys for the good inputs.
For those that have the HMKs, are you riding with the liners? The HMK actions i bought look identical to more expensive stuff without liner. But I think there uncomfortable with the liners in and worried they might be cold without.

I was in the same camp as you before this winter. Looking for new quality gear at a reasonable price. However, at the risk of looking like another Klim clown, I took a friend's advice and tried Klim's Freeride pants. If you want to be absolutely dry and free to move about these will not let you down. In fact, you will likely wonder how you ever got along without them. You can find some for around 15% off or more for last years model. These really are the kind of thing you buy, spend way more $$ than you'd care to and low and behold, realize you make the correct decision. You will never turn back after the first ride. Worth every penny.

Klim....not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, and definatly less $$ in the long run as they will last longer. I know it's tough to justify, but once you own them you will have all the justification you need.

LOVE my Klim's! Best money I've spent on gear, I was pretty sad at first about the $ but when my buddies are whining about being cold and wet the price doesnt hurt as bad.

I have a set of FXR bibs and I love them. That said, if I had it to do all over again I would have bought the Klim. They say they are guaranteed not to get you wet EVER. I have heard of a few guys that have gotten wet and Klim exchanges the pants for the newest model of that pant for no charge. That is amazing customer service. The only thing FXR has over Klim is the fact that they look cooler. Actually my pants have their Flotex technology. I hope I don't ever have to test them, but they are supposed to be flotation assisting, incase you ever fell through the ice. Regardless, guaranteed dry for life has my vote.

Removable liners and good mountain gear don't go in the same sentance. Buy the Klim. You won't be disapointed.

So, don't you get snow down your pants :face-icon-small-blu without the bib part?

I don't see how the powder skirt on a jacket will seal up with these pants.

You obviously do NOT ride hard enough. In spring or nice sunny days I leave my liner in the truck.

I will not own anything other than FXR unless the other brands catch up. Do you think the racers like them because they look cool? Ummmm NO. Its because they are the strongest, lightest, most breathable, comfortable, and warmest gear a guy could want.

Nothing more to say. Be a sheep and buy klim so we have 1,000,000 people wearing black or buy what the pro’s use and never look back. I could care less, I am 100% happy with my FXR clothing.

Your obviously right. I've never seen klim gear in Red, green, orange, yellow, and blue. No I don't ride like a snowcross racer. After 30 min of riding I don't put another coat on and go to the heated race trailer.

It's a ridiculous arguement. I'm sure they all have a great product. But I sure get a kick when i see the green so bright it'll almost hurt your eyes coming through the trees.
