Stuck thermostat victim.

Ok so let's get to the point here.. 17 rmk Assault 1200 miles. Second year having it. Thermostat got stuck closed. I over heated. Temps soared to over 200 degrees and I shut the sled down instantly. Let it cool down and opened side panels and noticed my coolant turned dark green. I sucked some out when I got it back to the garage and noticed it was green but had a black oily residue and you can rub it between your fingers and it goes away.. anyways dealer said it was fine and to flush it in the spring if I was really concerned about it but I am and concerned and I shouldn't have to.. it almost seems to me like exhaust is getting into the coolant. The black residue I found looks exactly like the oil that leaks out of the y pipe. My compression is still 125psi in each cylinder and the sled doesn't over heat anymore but I feel like there was a reaction to the original problem here... Any insights.. I would usually take the head off to inspect and replace o rings but I still have 2 years warranty and I really don't feel like fighting with the dealer.. do I just ride until something happens..

Just an FYI.

This is pulled from the 2017 Axys Service Manual in regards to engine over heating protection modes.

Engine Protection Modes - Axys
Hot lamp ON - lamp illuminates: Idle=201*F/WOT=185*F

Hot Lamp FLASH - Lamp flashes & Engine SHUTS OFF: Idle=215.6*F/WOT=201*F

I have seen the black stuff in there also, on many sleds.. no biggie imo. Just had this happen to an sks in my group.. I wouldn't say it soared over 200 but got close. Just change out the coolant and monitor it I'd say. Most I'd do is pull the valves and have a look around and such if you are concerned or scope it if you have one.. cheers.

I had a thermostat break in two pieces on my '18 at 800 miles. At 205 the safety's shut it down. I put in new thermostat ($70.00)and all is good . My antifreeze looks clean, not sure where the black floaters would come from. I always have to laugh when the dealer says "Never seen that happen before". They either lie out their azz everyday, all day, or I'm the most unlucky user on the planet.

I think you would need to carry just the right o-ring in order to fill the gap left by the thermostat. I'm guessing if you simply pulled the thermostat, removed rubber gasket, and then replaced the rubber gasket without the thermostat you would have a leak.
