Stuck Superclamp

Any tips for adjusting a stuck superclamp? My new sled's skis are thicker and the adjuster is totally stuck. Soaking the threads in wd-40 for days hasn't done the trick. They won't budge.

Try a better penetrating oil like Moovit or mix up some atf with acetone 50/50. It's messy but nothing works better. Otherwise call superclamp their warranty is good.

Thanks bnorth. I emailed superclamp customer service and that's exactly what they said to try as well. WD-40 isn't going to cut it, try something better.

I was shocked to see their national sales manager reply to my email within a couple hours and give me his cell to call. Talk about great customer service!

Just an FYI for SuperClamp II owners, be sure to ocassionally lube the adjuster bolt or it'll corrode and freeze up. I never thought about it since I never had to adjust them, and clearly don't know how to follow directions. (it says it right on them!)

It took good penetrating oil, heat, and getting a wrench on the lag bolt under the adjuster (drill out the rivets to pull it off) to get it moving again. All that and it still wasn't easy.

Anyway, lesson learned. Lube 'em!

That's what I used, PB Blaster. Soaking for five days straight didn't do the trick though. After only three years they were really frozen.

I use PB BLaster as well on mine when I had this issue, and it worked well, but I did have to more or less spray it every couple of hours for a day or so. Then she budged! Best of luck!

Turning them upside down lets you fill up the hole in the bottom of the J-hook and let it soak as long as you'd like without having to keep adding more.

Wasn't enough in my case, but good trick none the less.
