Has anyone had there chain come loose with the extra power from the Evo kits ? Mine did. Got lucky didn't break chaincase , but broke chain links and top gear. Chain was loose enough to rub case.

I've had issues. I don't trust the tensioner on these things. Thinking about putting in a manual one. I wasn't so fortunate my case and everything was destroyed.

I think that mine has something going on with it. I don't trust the auto tensioner either. Last summer when I swapped tracks I noticed the chain was slightly loose and it seemed the tensioner wasnt about to automatically click up the tension.

Some of our customers have broken chains.

We have a direct replacement 84 Pitch chain in stock. These are a higher quality US made chain.

It will be up on our website by Monday.

Here is what my tensioner looked like when I got into my case after the incident. It was one of many broken things but the pad that presses against the Chain broke right off. I also don't trust the little spring deal that holds the tensioner tight. What is to stop this thing from working its way towards the cover and subsequently making less contact with the chain? I've heard the race teams have a stop welded on these things to guarantee them from not coming off? Anybody have any ideas ?

I got this from krom over on hard core sledder.

Figured I'd post this for the guys that want to run one. All the parts are from the 2013 600 race sled

#2 2602-465 Plate, Ratchet $5.29
#3 0123-150 Nut $0.16
#4 1602-101 Screw, Cap $3.53
#21 1702-261 Arm, Tensioner - Assembly (inc. 22-23) $49.95
#27 2602-544 SPRING,TORSION $5.95

If you want to have a manual tensioner you can get this for under $60

edit: changed post to reflect the 2013 race sled setup

I destroyed my chain up north on a lake yesterday. Not sure what is all wrecked but the chain case is surely cracked as it leaked all the oil out slowly.

I bought a new arm tensioner. The original piece that rubs on the chain was worn down , I'm thinking that is what caused the chain to come loose. Looking over this auto chain tensioner, I just don't think it works. I did install the OSP engine and jackshaft support. I only had 900 miles on the original chain and tensioner. For you guys that broke the chain case , I feel for you. It's frustrating replacing the chain and gear. Major pain in a.... To get in there to work on it. Plus it gets very expensive without warranty .
