Street Legal Fog/Driving lights????

no rainman it does not have the stock foglights and all you guys worried about blinding oncoming traffic its all about aim you cant just mount them and go sure i could see where your all coming from but 400 bones for some lights that will just get trashed doesnt seem worth it. These lights are no brighter than the ones that ford puts on the trucks and those guys drive around with those on 24/7.

yeah, they're brighter, trust me.

Like I said, I don't even use my factory GM fogs because they're too bright to oncoming traffic and those are technically "legal".

The PIAA's that aren't technically "legal" are brighter to the driver and dimmer to oncoming traffic, and I have yet to see another brand of light that exhibited that characteristic, and I've tried everything from KC's to Hellas to Pilot's to cheap Checker lights ... I won't even bother with anything but PIAA anymore.

If you want more light and don't wanna blind somone into having a head-on collision with you, it's worth $215 for the PIAA fog lights.

You are the guy everyone is complaining about. No way that is legal on roads.

lets be clear, i only use these on the highways and not as driving lights. different than what you guys are talking about i guess. alaska's a little different than the rest of the states. when you run from fairbanks to anchorage, (350+ miles) you might only see a dozen other vehicles in the winter but probably that same number in moose or caribou. these are used for that reason. and i have never been pulled over for them. no state trooper would. its more than common up here for vehicles to have at least two on the bumper!

The factory fog lights on 2003+ GM trucks are supposedly "legal" but how damned bright are these things? Well, to oncoming traffic very ... to you, the driver with them, what good do they do? Damn near nothing. They kinda help, but not really.

I get brighted ALL THE TIME with my GM factory fog lights on on my 05' Silverado ..

It's really _NOT_ a good idea to be driving down the highway with lights that blind incoming traffic man...

Like I said, I don't even run the factory GM fogs for that reason and they came "legal" on the truck ....

Thank You:beer;

Those new GM fogs are very bright even sitting up as high as I do!

hey dog meat which piaa are you running?

510 or 520 Ion Crystal Fog lights ... mounted about 36" off the ground.

That's the only aftermarket fog light I've ever found that didn't blind oncoming traffic.

PIAA may or may not have the equivelent of that light in a square frame instead of a round one .. I don't know.

I just know the 510's and 520 fogs don't blind the living crap out of oncoming traffic and produce a hell of a lot of usable light.

Obviously you have never driven an older dodge before let alone one at night. I average 7k miles a month on this truck and if i want to see a little better im going to do it. If you cant stand the lights its you that needs to stay off the roads at night.

So you are essentially saying, ***** everyone else, as long as my greedy self can see.

That's what I'm reading too. On my last truck, I had a set of 6X9 KCs mounted on the grille guard. One flip of those usually got the donks to turn off their obnoxious add-on lighting. I only used mine when there was NO traffic around and had them shut down at least a 1/2 mile before I met anyone.

I would check with your states dot.. I was pulled over for having 6 white lights on here in Utah.. They said 4 was the limit.. As far as what was said earlier about colors, I was pulled over in West Yellowstone for having a red headlight cover on my snowmobile.. He said only emergency vehicles can have red or blue lights.. They wouldn't let my wife in the park with a yellow headlight cover on either...

little late on the reply here but i recently aquired some piaa 520 ion crystal driving lights(yellow ones/85w) and some piaa 540i driving lights (xtreme white/55w). The 520's are an extremely bright yellow, i use them for high beams, and the 540's i use as lowbeams/fog lights. I rarely ever have the 520's on, but they are great for when you need to see. 540's aren't quite as intense but are still a huge step above factory headlights.
