Street bike guys, Help!

I just picked up my first motorcylce, Yamaha FJ1200 with head work, cams, and 1mm bore on each cylinder. I need some riding gear, I will just ride this in the summer and spring, I need light weight gear to keep me cool, any suggestions? Thank you in advance! riding tips also welcome!

I really like my Icon Timax 2 jacket. It has a removable zip in liner and a few vents to boot. Plus the added protective plating on the shoulders and spinal section would help against road rash. The jacket shell itself (no liner) is fairly light and very durable. I'm impressed

Ive been down before and the nylon stuff did the job, but just barely. I bought Vanson this time, but I also bought a mfmh.....................

As far as advice, if you are getting low and fast dont be a dumb azz and leave your boot between the road and the case

I got some of these kevlar chaps with knee pads, I wear shorts under'em , on or off in seconds if I wanna stop and hike or eat or whatever...http://www.coloradochaps.com/ also wear fieldshear mesh jacket which comes with a nice windbreaker.......

Alpinestar or Icon both make great gear worth every penny. I agree with Luke on the Icon, really nice jacket for the summer ride.
