Strained calf

Well I had plans to ride on Friday and put some break in miles on my new pro. Tonight playing ball I strained my calf pretty bad. Not sure how it will be Friday.:noidea: I'm hoping it'll be ride-able, but not too optimistic. I've been having problems with it over the last few weeks (8 or so) and this is by far the worst strain. SUCKS! So a couple of questions.

1st: Anybody have any suggestions to a quick recovery?

2nd Does anybody want to do a proper break in on my pro without breaking my pro?

Five gallon bucket of ice water five min on, ten off, and a whole lot of suck it up will get you riding friday.

for sure Adam, you'll be feeling far worse if you miss out on what's out there.

I'll do that if I have do.....I guess..:face-icon-small-win

It would be a lot more fun if you were up there ripping it up too!

I'll see how I feel after walking around and working on it a bit tomorrow. I just don't want to make it worse....I like to snowmobile and I like to play ball, oh and I HAVE to work.:face-icon-small-ton

I will come down and pick that new Pro up and break it in right for you Friday and Saturday, and bring it back covered in deep snow, some awesome footage and pine needles!!

When are you gonna learn that churchball is dangerous Man?

You should contact Sunridge and ask him some advice.

Hopefully it gets feeling better cause its time to Ride. Doubly with that new iron just sitting and crying for some POW

Get a tight calf sleeve, if it's just the calf? If it is the achilles tendon, where it attaches into the muscle, you need to be careful, or you may tear it and be out for the season.

I'd say ibuprofen, wrap and go!!!! Heck if your just wanting put miles on you can ride like my mom. Sit and go. :face-icon-small-win
You can do it. Heck I rode most of last winter with no ACL. You saw me do it..

Ron said, "tell him he's wimp and he's just afraid of the cold"...:face-icon-small-hap

I tore a calf muscle a few years ago. I put some Icy Hot (I think that what it's called) made the pain bearable. I could hardly walk before I put it on. If I didn't have to do the family thing I would help a brotha out!:D

How do I know if it is just the calf or the achilles tendon?

How do I know if it is just the calf or the achilles tendon?

The location of the pull/strain. Is it in the middle/belly of the calf muscle or is it towards the lower calf where the achilles and calf "join" together. If it's in the lower part of the calf, heed SS advice. If it's middle or higher, man up and ride for gawds sake :face-icon-small-win (calf sleeve works great)

Like Larry said, or come let me take a look at it! If mid-calf....buy some chaps and cowboy up! :face-icon-small-win If you can't find a calf sleeve, just wrap an ACE wrap around it, tighter at the bottom and gradually loosen it as you wrap it up toward the knee.
