Storing a sport quad for the winter

I'm gonna put up my YFZ450 for the winter today...

Just wondering what you all do to store your toys for the winter as opposed to the summer.

It will be outside, I have the factory thin *** nylon cover for it, and I'm gonna be throwing a tarp over it as well.

The factory manual recommends putting some oil directly in the cylinder and putting the spark plug back in but this is a pain in the *** cuz you have to take all the plastic off to do this and it's 12 degrees outside right now.

I'm wondering, should I put some fuel stabilizer in it and put like 1/4 of a quart of oil in the tank and let it idle so it gets run through the system, then cap off the exhaust?

Advice appreciated, thanks :)

put fuel stabbilizer in, turn the gas off and fog the carb untill the motor kills, then fog the motor, then drain carb to just make sure all gas is out, take your battery out and put it inside, make sure your antifreeze is safe for below 0 conditions and then i would block up the frame so the tires are sitting of the ground and i would just clean up everything so plastic stays nice and spray armarol over the seat and what not
