store snowmobiles on top of each other

Seen an article a few issues ago that has a lift that you could store snowmobiles on top of each other. Does anyone know which issue that was in? Thanks.

Not sure what article, but I made one out of scrap over the summer. Looks like hell, but works, and was free. :) There are several different ones out there, so look around.

I have a Stack Rack that I bought from www.bristowsinc.com in Sauk Rapids, MN. It works great for me. I have stored my motorcycle up there as well.

I saw some in a shop once where the guy bought racks like you see in costco. He went 3 high but had to use his hyster to get them up there. He picked the racks up for next to nothing at an army surplus store.

This is how I store mine in the summer.

Regular pallet racking works great.

Sheesh... how'd you get them up there?

I was working on one of my sleds the other day, and needed to lift the front end so I put an axle strap around the bumper, and a tree strap around the rafters and used a come-along to lift it and the belly pan started to bend... the hood popped out of the track....

I built a shed, 2 stoire.. well sorta, 2 level.. put my neighbours quads on the top level(she has little kids and if stored in her yard they'd get trashed, and we don't have garages) bottom level is where my sled goes.. cept I got a second sled... won't fit... so I'll need to build a new shed for just the sleds... not sure if I'll do a side by, or a stacker with a ramp/hand winch.

same rack as drew's

i use the same rack, It's just cut down and some casters welded on it. i roll it up to the back of the sled deck and back on the sled. roll into the garage and slide another sled under the rack. it's in the back of this pic.

Good Thread! I've been interested in making some sort of rack for my vintage sleds. Not sure how wood would do for a rack. I like the idea of a 3-stack system. Certainly need casters under it to roll around

those racks are frigg'n exspensive!

my neighbor is a manager of a fred meyer store. the store did a re-model and he helped me score my racks. they are 10 foot towers and 4 cross beams for 25 bucks. used to hold the landscape stones. i cut one in half and put casters on it for the sled rack. look for a home depot, lowes, costco move or remodel.
