stock viper mountain suspension, what can I do to stiffen it up

I have an 05 mountain viper with the stock suspension, if you dont know what it looks like its pretty much the same as an apex suspension with the springs and what not, currently I am putting apex 162 rails under it and the thing just does not have much spring to it. when you sit on it and get off it only pops up a little bit, any changes you can make to these to improve them let me know thanks

Just a guess but I am thinking the geometry of the rear suspension is way off now. The mounting points of the apex rear suspension are different than a viper I do not believe that it is a direct swap. Are the bolt holes on the rails in the same position on the rails between the 162 rail and the 151 rail, just longer in the rear for the added length?

If that is the case then it must be from the added length alone changing the balance point on the suspension now that it is longer. Next step if it were me would be find a set of stiffer springs and try those. Maybe someone has a set out of an apex suspension you can try. I know those will be stiffer!

I dont have the new rails in yet it has this problem with the stock suspension thats why I am worried that it is going to get worse with the new rails but yea I will deffinatly look at getting the apex springs thanks for the help

sounds like the springs are toast. I would get different springs and a new rear shock while your at it. Do you jump alot? How many miles on the springs and shocks? Also check the arms and the welds have been known to crack...

the sled has about 1200 miles on it I tend to jump quite a bit i think I am going to buy the heavier springs that yamaha offers I think mine are like 193 kg of force and the new ones are like 230 kg of force and they have different angles on them dont know what to do for sure
thanks for the help
