Just thought this might be usefull data to share...
2013 RMK Pro 155 as delivered (Runs but very little oil or fuel) 449.7
2013 M8 Sno Pro as delivered (No Fuel but more oil than rmk) 488.1

Scales vary, however both of these units were weighed the same day on the same scale... (included tools, belt)

hmm..11 pds heavier then another pro rmk was weighed at, and about 8 pds lighter then the PC showed on that same scale...so depending on whos scale some where between 38 and 57 pd diff.............

m8

You can easely loose weight on m8, harder to loose weight on polaris. Just the can weights alot on M8.
But stock is polaris way lighter

I was going to say, " where's the 60lbs that we've seen others post? "

Must be those thicker cylinder skirts! :face-icon-small-ton

All these different weights are ridiculous... This is a huge debate every year.
Why dont a bunch of snowesters get together with a certified scale and weigh every brand with a bunch of witnesses. And do it one way or another, COMPLETELY EMPTY OR COMPLETELY FULL OF FUEL. But even then I suppose some people wouldn't be happy. lol

are you sure it wasn't a 2012 you weighed? according to Carl's cycle who weighed a bunch of sleds out the 2013 wet Pro 2013 155 is 438. Not sure about the 2013 cat however.

http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304743

If I had to choose whose numbers to believe I think I'd go with Carl's.

those are suggested dry weights which is impossible to weigh,Oil in shocks ,grease, coolant ect.
no carls hung all 3 brand 2012 sleds fresh out of the crate, all fluids full to capacity except dry fuel tanks..they also weighed a 2013 demo sled...wieghts are in that story, couple more guys in different parts of the world also weighed the 2013 and came up with507 and 508 pds full of all fluids, they are in that thread as well(and reverse math on the fluid weights came back to 438 less fuel and 417 pds dry of all fluids....

Why? You'd probably believe anything anyone told you then!

Woog weights are straight up. Imo he has no reason to fib weights.
I would trust his numbers as well, but from doing both polaris preps and cat preps..if the polaris runs on flat ground..it has at least 2 gal of fuel in it if not 3..I know this because I prep 50-100 sleds for sale every winter(both cat and poo) and thats how much we have to put in them to get them fired up....so take at least 13 pds off the poo for running fuel level or fill them both to capacity and reweigh them.....

Do you think someone whose livelihood is in the snowmobile industry and being honest would lie? I'm definitely going to believe a company like Carl's who has a great reputation over someone on a forum. That said, I'm not sure how you suppose I'm gullible.

Edit: I think Carl's measured a demo sled, so until I know for sure I wont say the polaris is lighter till someone else weighs a sled off the line

I vote someone should weigh the 4 major brands, full of fuel, oil, spare belt, tool kit, ready to ride, stock. Also use the same approx track length.

I don't care so much that the scale is certified as long as it is close. The main thing is the same scale must be used for all sleds.

the problem with full of fuel is that each manufacturer has different sized gas tanks so it makes more sense to use the EVERYTHING BUT gas weight
