Stiff Competition

Keep in mind again, Polaris must be doing something right if Chris Burandt is jumping ship on ditch pickles going to the poo! Randy Sherman, Dan Adams? Look at those guys rip! If the sleds were a total pile then I don't think the big dogs would be riding them, sponsorship and contracts aside.

I have an 09, and I ride all the time with two buddies who have 08's. Between all of us, we have not had one problem with the motor. That being said, I have had some chaincase issues that were frustrating, but got taken care of. I have actually thought of getting a cat for my next sled, but that is because the Polaris dealer we have in town is not what you would call stellar. I feel terrible for the people that have gone through motor after motor, I hate it when you buy something new and it doesn't work. You would think that after 5 powerplants (an example from above) your dealer would step up to the plate and do something drastic to get you taken care of. I have noticed that no matter what brand you ride, they all have their own set of problems. Unfortunately for some of the Polaris guys, theirs seem to be much bigger than the rest.

These are all of the sleds I have owned over the years... I dont pipe anything, dont turbo anything, dont mess with jets (unless completely necessary). I pretty much just ride the sleds like they are supposed to be ridden. The biggest problem I had was bending the trailing arms back in the day. My old man drilled brand loyalty into my brain when i was a young buck (part of my sour taste towards doo and cat). Polaris has been great for me and my family and I will continue to keep buying red.

Wouldn't buy a Ford either ;)

I've been riding Polaris now for most of my sledding career... I think I bought my 01 in 03 and have been on Polaris ever since. I really like my current sled and thought about selling it this year, but quickly decided against it 'cuz I like not having payments more than I like a newer sled. In the next few years though I'll probably switch, and unless Polaris can pull it together and produce something worth owning I won't buy another Polaris. Been looking hard at the Cat M8, Rev, and XP and at this point I'd have to go with either an 08-09 M8 or an 09 XP-X. I have 2 buddies that are XP riders (09 and 10 models) so it will be a good year to see how they compare and if they can take the abuse (the guy with the 09 is gonna run his through the wringer I know).
