Just curious if Stewart has a lodge still that caters to sledders like when I think it was Dave Craig was there? I was looking at the option of doing some early season riding and I know in the past they have been known to start shredding by late Oct. Any info on that?

Dave Craig put Stewart on the map for those of us in te elower 48.

Damn you Dave for that. LOL Even though Dave isn't producing Roops anymore...I haven't forgotten about Stewart. Stewart Mtn Lodge, right?

I'd still love to go there...maybe even moreso than Revy.

iam 2 hour drive from stewart & snow was down to around 1000ft yesterday here, so it would be lower there & more .you prob could ride there already even if you had to go on the glacier.as far as i know daves lodge was bought by a heli ski comp but that could be a rumor cant find any info on it.there is no tour guide company there for sledding anymore just motels for rooms.there is a new place ripley creek inn not sure if they cater to sledders though.

Mapquest says 18 hours. If all that precip turns to snow, I'm going to have a hell of a time talking myself out of the drive. Sure wish there were a true local on here to talk to about current conditions and lodging. Thanks for the input BigFish

if i hear any info on the conditions there i will let you know,it looks like we got 2-4ft here above 3500ft & snow down to 1000ft.there mite be more it has been snowing up top for about 4days strait now & still snowing & stewart always gets more if we get 3ft they get 5 ft.there sled site will usually have a post or 2 about the early riding if you watch it,the early riding there can be a stuck fest with bottomless crazy snow 6ft + overnight at times & no grooming:jaw::face-icon-small-hap
