Quick question...

Is there any spots for lubrication on the steering down-post on M8's ?

Mine is squeaking a little bit, and I dont see any grease nipples.

As well, I think I remember the post being curved a little bit, right where the linkage rod goes forward. It is suppose to be curved, right ?????

Thanks in advance

there is a ball in socket on the bottom of the post where it pivots no zerk fitting but you could undo the nut on bottom of tunnel and lift the post up enough to shoot some wd-40 in there if it really bothers you. i greased mine up last time it was apart smooth as butter. yes the curve is normal, on the post i mean;)

There are Zerks right behind the front shocks. I greased the daylights out of mine and turning the skis still makes an awful sound. I was thinking about adding a zerk on the top side of the aluminum post where the steering rod connects.

I also shot WD-40 on every joint and it still doesn't seem to help with the sound either.

Just behind the exhaust pipe you will see an aluminum plate which is bolted on by 3 screws. You will also notice two large nuts. Those nuts are what hold the steering column assy in place and the recommended torque is 8 ft lb. My guess is that overtighening of these nuts would lead to excess friction on the steering post and thus cause squeaking.

If you remove the alum plate you can spray some lube in the steering column clamp area. You may be able to do it without removing the plate but there are only three screws.

steering

On my 2009 m8 sno pro out of the box had a horrible sound in the steering-assembly ,impossible to steer. traced to the tie rod ends, removed right side tie rods #16 and #21 on steering diagram.frozen, tried everything, finally replaced . the sound will transmit all over- drop outer tie rods to check Now if I can get the hand warmers to work all the time.
