steering post

You don't need a special tool. I Squeezed my hand in from the muffler side with a wrench and used a long extension to undo the nut at the very bottom of the post. It's a bit of a hassle but you don't need a special tool. If you get a buddy to help it's much easier. I never had to undo the engine to complete this. Depending on the post, you will probably have to align the skis again. Look around on the forum.... there are a few posts explaining the process....... Just my too cents

Steering Post

The bottom of the Dragon post sits in a cup. I removed the air box and just loosed up the throttle bodies so I could get them out of the way a little. Then you can reach down past them and remove the bolt that attaches the post to the steering rod. Remove the top bolts on the post after removing the handle bars and you can pull the post up and out. I had to fish a box end wrench down under the steering rod to hold the bolt but I just let it swing over against the tunnel and it held itself. A couple of long extensions on the rachet made getting the nut off easier.
