I tried that on mine. It helped alittle.
The post is curved around the airbox. Shove a piece of metal down the post hole it'll bend lower down the post.
Sure would be a excellent replacement.

On my xc I added a support. I drilled out the epozy and jb welded a stock of aluminum in the post. Not a wet noodle anymore.
