steering post problem 99 700

my steering post seems really soft when ever it gets jammed forward just wondering if anybody has any tricks to reinforce that, show me some pics if you got any, i am up for any suggestions.:smokin:

Wildchild makes a great post out of chromoly. Fastrax also makes stronger supports. I have seen people put various rods and epoxy down there too. Personally I use the Wildchild posts.

I ended up snapping mine clean off a few months ago. A buddy and I put a larger size diameter pipe over it and welded it. Looks pretty bad, works but the biggest help was ordering a better bearing that holds the post at the very top. Mine was 6" from the top of my post, I found a used one with a 4" riser and a greasible bearing which is thicker and more stout. I really feel that it made the difference. Changing the bearing location put less stress on the post, made it stronger. But Wildchild makes killer posts. My boss just put one of his on his dragon, looks and works flawlessly.

Sorry I already deleted the pics, but I had previously posted them on here. Just look up steering post under this forum

I used to cut mine off and run rod stock down the post. Then weld it back on. even then I still bent a few. I now Have a post made out of titanium... No more worries.
