Staying at Paulina for the New Year

We're going to be up there from Friday till Monday and I'm worried about the rain. I know the lake is at about 6300' and the peak is 8000' or so but not much riding up high. It looks like all the snow is going to be 7000' and higher. Is there any other areas within an hour or so that are higher elevation? Is the bachelor riding mostly over 7000'?

The base of Mt. Bachelor, where the lodge is is also 6300'. Sunrise is at 7300' so I'd guess most of the riding @ Bachelor is between those elevations. looking right now at 8:30 PM and temp at 6300 is 33 degree. I've been watching conditions pretty closely, hoping to get some seat time sometime during this "Great La Nina winter".

On mtbachelor.com it shows a sunrise weather station. I wouldn't think that sunrise lodge would be that much higher than the main lodge but I don't know for sure. Looking at google earth I'd say most of the riding from dutchman snow park looks to be about 6800'. Again I can't say for sure never paid that much attention to the gps while riding bachelor.

You could also look at the Lapine lodgepole Dodge web site for more info, so far I don't see any grooming report for Pualina.

dutchman, west village(main lodge) and sunrise all are at basically the same elevation 6,300'.

I personally would think twice about paulina this weekend, not trying to rain on your parade but if we get the rain that they are predicting tomorrow it will really hurt the snow pack under 7k and they have very little snow there already.

I hear ya but we already booked a cabin there and we can't back out this close to our check in date. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and worst case ill just camp out on top of the Peak if it's the only snow around. Arghhhh, this winter better shape up soon!!!

Report was & is?

Looking forward 3-16 to 3-19 invite R.V.n & riding, does anybody know latest conditions for this area or must do or do-nots??? Thanx l<>l !!!:face-icon-small-coo:hail:

Is there some kind of event thing going on or just a private thing you're talking about? I would be extremely cautious about playing under the main peak. It looks really tempting but is prone to sliding. The run around the lake is pretty scenic and there's plenty of play areas pretty close to that route. I'm looking closely at this warm front moving in but I might be there as well. Have fun.

weather pending

Thanks for the HEADS-UP!!!!! Might be a short delay until next thurs. hoping for a couple sunnier days, have to see what the weather(person) decides to do w/this system and when the mobile warming hut will be there??? Should be @ 5-8 of us upper park & hut, stop & say high!! Black Cherokee & class C chev R.V.!!:wine::face-icon-small-coo l<>l !!!
