Stator testing?

If you're having sporadic failures, I would seriously consider looking at the stator wires directly behind the flywheel and check the flywheel for separation of the inner back side. This is exactly what happened to mine but I ended up with complete failure. I'm not sure that a bad capacitor would be related to a spark problem.

Once a stator goes bad will it test bad consistently?? Or can it be an intermittent problem?? My 900 is loosing spark very erratically. Sometimes it'll keep spark for 5sec and sometimes I can run it for a mile before it looses spark. And no I haven't tested my stator yet.

mine done the same thing i would let it cool drive it cople hundred feet it shut down let it cool move again ect when i tested it it tested bad when i removed it you could see where it was burnt

my inner flywheel ring was let go also glued it back in and put new stator in and went back riding
