Stator/ recoil plug

Hey guys,

I noticed on my 2012 Pro RMK if I look down at my recoil housing I can see my stator inside. There was only a piece of clear tape covering this hole. Is there supposed to be a rubber plug covering this up? I checked out a 2014 rush and there was a plug on that one.

I am having a hard time finding anything on the microfiche. Sorry, no pictures.

Tape is all I've seen on there.
