Stampede pass conditions !!

Just got back from Stampede.Lots of road washout. You CAN NOT access from the highway hill trail.Road is completely washed out! 8' deep by 10' across. This is the road you access to head up to highway hill.Going towards Lost Lake.Stampede side also has washout but you are able to get through that......3-4 "of fresh snow up by the power lines.

Sounds like a lot more snow is needed up there.
Doesn't sound like much fun at this point.

Have faith, it's going to get better.

It is snowing hard and chains required over 10,000 and slick as slick is.

Just got down--snowing hard from Easton all the way over the hill on the west side.

There was a accident headed east bound--looks like the explorer slid sideways in front of a Kenworth--Rig mangeled and kenworth in the snowbank--actually through the snowbank about 25 or 30 feet in it.

H2OSKE - is the cabin near lake Kachess but close to 1-90 near Easton? one car garage? looks just like one i was gonna buy with SEEYACOP a few years back. If so - beautiful place.

Nice place...I've almost brushed the taste of envy out of my mouth...

The facia river rocks just kinda like putting lemon juice on a paper cut...damn it... bet it sucks to drink scotch or beer in front of a fire up there on a snowy night swapping lies...

If the snowlevel does not go up as forecast tonight--there will be ALOT of new up there--
There was someone headed up there tonight when we went through--New yellow chev truck with 3 place enclosed. When we came over there was about 4 inches new at the pass level.

I'm surprised of the snow build up on that roof with a pitch like that...

I have a friend with a place at Hyak and the snow always slides off his metal roof.

Sundays conditions

Well just got back from crystal springs / stampede, big wash out just up the road at mosquito creek. the groomer scraped as much snow as he could to fill it in to ride thru. Road up the the weather station, about 1/2 the snow as there should be. Road out twards Meadow pass and down to the lost lake road, Meadown pass road has about 3 or 4 good size wash outs on it. I dought the groomer will get thru it. Lost lake road not to bad. All the trails are rough and miserable. I hate to say this but the groomer broke the left side track last night heading up to stampede, It's in the middle of the road, they were trying to get parts to fix it, maybe this afternoon. Not sure. Raining up there all day, No snow anytime soon according to the weather report. wont be to good up there for a while, sorry,

Kurt and some of the guys went to lake ann, he just called and said it was sunny and great, lots of new snow up high, They broke trail all day getting up their. The road going up salmon la sac had been groomed with some new snow on top of it. Said it was a great ride concidering the way the weeks been. No road damage up there like the stampede area.
