Stampede parking

Went up to Stampede today. As posted earlier, the gates are closed. Up near the fire station there are signs everywhere. Most are spray painted in the snow to stay out, private property, and no trespassing. Had to park along the road next to Stampedes gate. We talked to a forest ranger there and he said basically the only parking is in front of the gate. There is no parking on the road off to the right of the gate due to the plowing. So it looks like stampede is limited to the 6 or 7 spots in front of the gate. There are signs there also which says no parking but the ranger said we could park there if we were not blocking the gate.

Very frustrating that one of, if not the busiest snopark in the state is closed with so much snow still left. That being said, if one parks at the gate is there snow left anywhere to ride along the road to get to the "hill?" Thanks any report would be appreciated. Was thinking about heading up there tomorrow.

Only my second season in the sport. I've never been to the Easton Reload. If we parked there tomorrow is there enough snow to ride back to Stampede on the John Wayne. If I read the maps correctly you can ride the JW back to Stampede. Am I correct in that? Thanks very much for the insight!

Yes you can get from reload to john wayne very easily. Snowpark is open and clear. Was up there around 6 to see if it was still open. Should hopefully be able to atleast get 20 rigs in there if people park correctly.

yes, the j.w. trail is open to snowmobiles from the reload to stampede. I was at the reload tonight and there is good spring snow left. you ride at a slighly higher altitude going over beeler pass. and by the way doesn't spray painting the snow have an environmental impact on our water supply???? that guy needs to be gone....

When you refer to Beeler Pass do you mean taking the 41 road out of the Reload back to Stampede? Thanks!

Beeler is the road they cut in uo and over the mountain so snowmobiles dont go over or through the river.

I think i rode over that bridge a couple times and then there was like a little rope bridge or something for a while.

It was always a little sketch whenever some newbie would get their 121" stuck on that thing.

Ahhh....the good ole days.

Easton Reload THANKS

Just wanted to say thanks again to kbl6z, Lake Cle Elum and snojunkee for your information about Easton Reload. Went up yesterday and looked around. Had a great time putting on a few late season miles in the sun!! Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Wouldnt it be easier for everyone (sledders, cabin owners and law enforcement)if they just left the gate open until the snow melts down low? Is the lot being used for anything else right now?
Same goes for price creek westbound....why bother putting up jersey barriers when it could be left open year around like the park across the freeway.??

Come On Now!

Went riding on saturday up gold creek area and up to the radio tower where I-90 Motorsports had a small gathering for demoing ski doo's. Great day for riding. I was going to park at the westbound Price Creek snowpark but also found that the entrance off the hiway was closed with jersey barriers, why i dont know, pretty darn stupid if i say so that the state would do that. Decided to park down at the turnaround off of Ketchees Lake road and ride up FSR 4948 up the backside to the radio tower. I talked with a few disgruntled sledders that changed thier plans and instead of riding stampede pass rode gold creek area because the gate was closed to the crystal springs snowpark and thier was no parking.

There is no reason for them to close the gate this early in the season. Its complete stupidity in my opinion. Other than them trying to cut down on the snowmobiles up there this late in the season.

Stampede pass Homeowners

There is a few houses there on the flats at the Stampede Pass / Lost lake turn off that are making a lot of noise. I think they had the road to their houses plowed so they can drive in. The truoble is that we have a cabin further up the road that we can only get to by snowmobile at this time and now have our access denied. These are the same people that towed a bunch off people earlier this year that were parked along side the road when the snowpark was not open. It is to bad that the few can screw up the many.....
