St. Helens clues

watch for crevass and big holes up at the lahar and plains, and be aware that creeks are everywhere up there right now. other than that, just ride safe

have you been there before? if so, what area do you plan on riding?

message me if you have any more questions..

and remember, google earth has REALLY good imaging of Helens...

i'm not sure how accurate these are but, here are a couple maps of the area..

red are normally groomed snowmobile trails, (not this year....) the best riding is around the lava canyon/lahar, and around blue lake if you know your way around...

just make it to the lava canyon veiwpoint, and you will see the good riding from there..

any up-to-date info on what it's like to get to the snow and how to go about it. Is the road open past the Ape Cave? How much bare road do you have to ride. Haven't been up there since last fall. Thanks, going either there or to Adams, not sure yet.

Conditions for 5/31

We unloaded at the cougar snow park. There was approx 16 inches or so at the gate. Small bare patches maybe 200 ft or so.. nothing major. Had a great time, hooked up with some riders that knew there way around and had a blast until GF locked keys in car! thank god the others had Onstar... they called onstar, verifed my Onstar account.. and two minutes later we were heading home.
