Anybody stayed and ridden out St Elmo this recently this year? What's the place like and is the riding okay?

Will be with family so just easy riding.

Thanks!

I have ridden Cottonwood pass a couple times this year (in fact last weekend) and snow was pretty good. I suggest taking the family up the road to Hancock and back, is nice easy ride with some small play areas. Also, the road off to the left going up leads to an old mining area complete with buildings that in my opinion are worth seeing.

I would caution against tin cup pass as it can have some nasty drifts if not groomed.

much exposure?

I'm thinking about going up there myself just to cruise around and hit hopefully some nice boondocking/playing. I went there in 2011 and it was great but its been a while since I've heard of any decent snow that way. Any report on boulders, stumps etc?
