SSI Adjustable weights

I was told mine were the new bushings. Same as a stock cat bushing. I even got a Cat replacement part # from SSI today so I can replace mine. The bushings look like they melted away. My clutches must have got too hot. But my clutches are always really hot on every new sled Ive ever owned. Primary wasnt any hotter than normal with the way I ride. This is my first turbo sled, but Ive never burnt out bushings on any cat or polaris in the past. I wonder if the metal they are using for the weights might get hotter than other weights and burn out the bushings prematurely, any thoughts?

I installed new venom weights I already had sitting around today. Bushings to bolts were a nice tight clearance. Will see how these hold up.

Have not installed my weights. Is there a way to tell if you have the good bushings. Maybe color? Mine are red. Maybe they are all red just bad and good quality. Really don't want to install if they don't last long. Could not find updated bushing on their web site. Any info?

The weight bushings that have been giving us fits are red in color-
The replacement ones are grey color looking, and was told they are Polaris bushings that are easily replaced.
My conclusion ( FWIW) is the material is to soft and disfigures, giving excessive play in the weight pin.

Hey guys.

We don't make clutch bushings, but we do purchase them from the manufacturer who also supplies oems. I would really appreciate it if anyone has a bushing problem to please let me know. But send me an email or call me. I don't get on snowest as often as I would like, especially this time of year.
Maybe there is a possibility that the manufacturer had a bad batch? Not sure? We did try another company last year which the bushings were reddish in color, and the narrow ones for the Polaris didn't last so we went back to the original manufacturer we used previously. I have used them for bushings going back several years before I was even here at BDX/SSI with very good longevity. All of our stuff has a warranty, we don't sell parts to just dump off junk on anyone. But we simply need your help if you have a bad set. So please just contact us.

There are several companies using magnet style weights now, and we all use the same style of magnet. They work, that is why they have become so popular.
