Sputtering...why???

Got 50 miles on the sleds now....the 600 would sputter every once in a while at 7750...thought it was a rev limiter but 700 did not do it....

Just put in new fuel as I was empty - dealer gave it premixed with 3/4 tank.
Filled up at Petro Canada with premium....put 10 miles on the sleds...every once in a while whenever on the throttle or mild accelerating, sleds were sputtering...

Is this normal with break in....are my plugs cooked from premix break in? Should I just ride it more and see what happens?

Thanks for the help and input!

My first thought was old gasoline (low octane level) but you said that the gas was fresh(?) In that case I would do as you suggest and try to change the spark plugs

Just for a heads up, Polaris has indicated not to use any fuel with Methanol as an additive. Methanol is used as a deicer in Petro Canada's winter fuel. Here is a link to their msds

Well got the gas out....that took some time...had only put 8 miles on with the petro can fuel. Filled up with Shell premium v power...the 700 seems great...the 600 will be going along fine then stumbles down and then kicks back in...and when feathering gas, get the odd sputter but not near as bad as it was....going to try and change the plugs and see what that does..

All the items on that page you lined to say change fuel, but none say anything about methanol trouble shooter.

(and ya...when I typed in change wires for methanol I thought to myself, do I not mean ethanol :))
Thanks for the help guys!

ok changed plugs...started one pull whereas before it took 5 vs the 3 pulls of the 700!
We went out...first 1.5 miles no probs..yahoo....then, started again..i
I guess you can call it any of the following...
A bog
A sputter
A hesitation

notice it more at mid throttle and odd time when you crack on it....

Back to dealer????

Talked to dealer, ran my serial number, turns out it needs an update flash that will get rid of this bog....take it in tomorrow....will see what happens.

well....got sled back from dealer....excellent! The new flash made all the difference....but I would also stay away from the petro canada fuel as it made my 700 run like crap and I had to syphon it...out...PITA!

Randy - Have you been able to find out if there is ethonal in V power or not? One person said it is in all fuel in canada, another said the V power did not have enthanol?
