That was my initial thought. Thank God I was wrong!
My Pro has E-start. There is a hose clamp (yes, factory installed hose clamp) that holds one side of the starter. The hose clamp came loose and allowed the starter to vibrate when the motor would return to idle.
At first, I thought the drive chain adjuster came loose. Checked it and it was fine. Started the motor back up and heard the noise again, kept looking, and realized the starter motor was vibrating really bad. Held the motor with my hand and the noise disappeared. Looked at the flex shaft coming off the starter and saw the hose clamp dangling there. Re-tightened hose clamp and noise was gone.
So stoked that my motor had not grenaded.
Just wanted those of you with E-start to check your hose clamp, or know what to look for if you hear the same noise.
