Sprint cell service???

I am leaving ATT this week. Don't know if it'll be verizon or sprint though......

After seeing many of the responses in this post I am leaning towards sprint. I do have until March until my contract is up, so I have plenty of time to be swayed.:face-icon-small-ton

Well just for fun I looked into Sprint since my wife's contract was fulfilled a year ago.
I punched in the Evanston zip code and:
Sorry! Before you can continue, you’ll need to fix 1 thing: ZIP code (Service unavailable
We're sorry; we haven't gotten to your neighborhood yet. Thank you for your interest in Sprint. We are constantly improving our network and may have coverage in your area in the future. Please check back with us or enter another ZIP code to continue shopping for another location.)

Then I punched in the Kamas zip code and:
We may have limited Sprint coverage in your area.

Before you buy, we recommend that you:

Check our coverage maps below to see if a Sprint or Nextel phone will work best for you.
Check coverage in the area you plan to use your phone the most, click See street-level coverage to enter your exact address or a different ZIP Code.

Shows very little and mostly no coverage for the area's we hang out in.:face-icon-small-dis

We have Nextel, I have made calls from Marc's cabin, and had reception at Ron's. Our regional rep also told us that this fall the Nextel towers are going to be retrofitted to Sprint, we will recieve free smart phones as ours will be obsolete and were purchased withing six months of retrofit. This should greatly strengthen the coverage area.

Sprint gets service anywhere verizion does. My dad has V and I have sprint I almost always have service. rode mill last year and used my phone the whole time as a gps tracker. My biggest complaint is 4g coverage is extreamly limited in utah. I have had the EVO 4 a year and just went to the I phone. They really take care of you as a buisness. I get free # listings in the phone book and a few other perks. I have 5 lines. sprint also has free roaming on the unlimited plan I get great service off of union tell in Evenston. Also if you root your Phone like I did on the evo You dont have to worry about hot spot sprint cant track the data when your not paying for that service you dont use there "hot spot" service I teather as my only internet right now I used 60G last month. Sprint hasnt said a word. :-)

Do you need cell service for GPS to function?

So you're the guy that all the wireless companies have to adapt to due to your ridiculous amount of data usage.
I used 1/2 gig on my phone last month.

When I was up at the Lodge the only other phone company that got service there was Sprint.

You have to keep in mind to the difference between extended coverage area for the occasional times vs. permanent resident needing service.

Example: my phone works fine and well in Bear Lake, granted I am roaming on other service. You don't pay roaming on sprint so you don't notice the difference. Your phone just works.
Sprint does pay a fee for that roaming (ultimately I am sure I pay part of it in my monthly bill).

I know that I have service there and my in-laws would too. Since they live in a roaming area it costs to much so when you type in there finder it will give you the above notices like Ron saw. My inlaws even signed up for phones at a sprint store down in logan. Well a few months into their service, they got shut down and were told they would let them out of their contract and discontinue there service. That is because they are residents outside of what they think is there coverage area:face-icon-small-con

No but to have the map update so you can see where you are at you do. I can turn off data service and just get a red line but no map saves batteries that way.

But you can't get to where we go:sorry:

True I'll have to work on my skillz and a new sled.

No this M/ I used 2G. When I have my boys I tether my phone so the can watch netflix on the ps3 I was amazed how much data netflix uses.
