Spring tower cap/spring cover assembly 08/09 xp's

Hey guys I just bought a new spring cover assembly from my dealer here in Salt Lake. Looking at it---the part number in the catalog is different than the physical part number. Did I get the updated one? Is this the same number on all the spring covers?
Part's list says 417222759. On the new one is stamped 417222761.

Hopefully you got the better one with wider bushing. Compare to old.

Why did you buy it? If yours 08 one is bad it should be coved under warranty.

the part number on the primary spring cap that came on my 08 xp said 761, the number on the spring cap of my brand new primary is 761, and I orderd a new spring tower cap and it has 761 on it also. I orderd a 759, the bag says 759, and the cap says 761 on it. the date of manufacture says aug of 05 on the bag. looked up the part number and 04-09 summit all uses the same spring tower cap.

The only way to tell is to measure it ! I don't have the measurement of the new one, sorry. It will be a hit and miss thing until all the old ones are used up. Nothing like Doo engineering ! Those pr*&cks are never wrong.

from what I have heard their will not be a new part number. I don't know if the bushing on the new ones will be made of a different material or just to a different spec.
I have mic's to measure OD, but not a inside mic to measure the ID of the ones I have. I need to get one.
I was told the problem was on the 07 and newer ones up to the 09 one coming out. Since the one spring tower cap was made in 2005 I put it on. With the outside sheave on the shaft of the inside sheave their is not hardly and movement or play at all trying to move the outside sheave. Hopefully it works good.

Thanks for the info guys. It was a warranty deal so I'll keep it and install it after the next snowfall. I want it fresh so I can see the difference in the right conditions.
