SPRING FLING 2011 April 29th thru May 1st

Did anyone mention it snowed?

Same with mine even mag side xcept my pto side was a little whiter on top of the piston. Is this a lean condition?

If you were lean this time of year, I'd be tearing that entire motor down. Sounds like you may have a crank seal leaking. Go ahead and get new seals, crank bearings, pistons, re-nik the cylinders and check the crank run-out. As many miles as you have it's a good idea. Thats a good sled, no reason to scrap it.

No fixing the Dragon this time, busted out the bottom of the case. Parting it out, let me know if you want some gently used parts.;)

The outer edges of the mag piston is missing metal, like it detonated and the lower rod bearing is gone. The rear track shock is sacked out also. Anybody want to buy a roller?

I'd say that's from the lower rod bearing debris getting sucked up and chewed on. Seen it many times. lol

Great time Spring flingin with ya Boss! You brought the party! The first day (Friday), way to soon for your sled to go down :face-icon-small-sad

But I guess I have seen some deto get that bad on me. Pits should look melted, not mechanically pounded from debris. Find any debris?

Lucky for me I have a spare bottom end with a 100mi. on it, and my cyl's are good,it's in an 05 summit 151 with around 2200mi. on the chassie. Mine is a X was a 144 used rail ext. and tunnel wasn't lengthened. It needs the spare nun I have installed, shocks rebuilt brake rotor rattles like a mofo, bumper's broke, front nose is bolted/rivited back together, so I will prob. use the 05 and sell what I don't need.

I found some chunks of metal in my Y pipe and the rod is a little tight on the crank, no cyl. damage.

Then on the way back to eat turkey (late already) Angelo finds a nasty creek drop. Angelo, the pointing meant you should avoid the hole, not drive into it! lol Hows that bruise looking!

Lots of debris, mostly small crap, larger chunks still in the bottom end. Since the crank was recently went thru, I'm guessing that it was deto causing bushing failure and not the other way around, but who knows for sure.

I can't believe what you've gone through on your Dragon skibreeze.

Much worse than the 4 failures in 1500 mi on my old 09 D8 :face-icon-small-sho
