SPRING FLING 2011 April 29th thru May 1st

Not really an organized ride but more like a loose collection of idiots exploring the spring pow and drinking into the night around a ridiculously too large fire while camping in the Muddy Creek Parking lot.

Think some old timers who got even older and quit sledding originally started the ride. Some years the lot is full others there have only been a few...but one thing has been constant....FRESH POW and last year was no exception.

And it looks like the weather is going to cooperate again this year!!!!

Last few years I have roasted off a Turkey and if I can get my hands on one I think I will do it again for Sat night. Plus make up a batch of stuffing and mashed potates.....all held together with some tasty gravy

ANy way....how about a roll call so I can know how much food to prep.

I'm hoping to be there Saturday, maybe Sunday. Moving my Dad to Delta on Friday, unless he changes his mind. But. I'll cut some tracks for ya on Thursday.

Lemme ask Dogmeat, Mule and XC.

Definitely in! Can't wait for riding and eating! Luckily Diz cooks as good as he rides.

Alriiight, sounds like a gooder shaping up :) I'm sure powderpatrol will be there too! Hey, what else ya gonna do the first weekend of May?

This year is the best base we've had ever and it's still building! Over 10' of snow the last few weeks and it's sposed to just keep snowing:) Would be nice to see some of the old-timers who were there in the beginning...He!!, they're not even old, just had to make some sacrifices! lol

Geeze pj, don't you ever have to work :)

Way too much! I haven't ridden in 3 weeks. I'm off on fridays now. Taking a floating holiday for Thurs.

I'm gonna go thru the 700 for Yammers to ride, so somebody talk his arse into coming up.

I've been drawing him in on another site ;)

Saw that and I sent an email. I'll call him when I get home and hit him on FB. If I had another sled, I'd get Jeffro up too. Be fun to see them again. Haven't seen 'em since bow season.

I'm going to miss it again !!!!!

Man life is getting in the way of Riding again this year. Man this sucks had some great times out riding the fling. Heres some pics. :face-icon-small-hap

I've been drawing him in on another site ;)

Just heard from him, he's nursing a very severe bout of tendonitis and a broken finger. The tendonitis must be real bad, as it sidelined him for the summer and some of the hunting season.

tendinitis....sounds like something someone OLD gets?

And just think Boondock rode out with a broken back.....but he is a young feller

Dizzles first fling. First time on the Ear's? or thereabouts. 5/3/08. Pow was pretty good for May.

didn't even recognize the ol cannonball lid

CB pulled up to us about to drop the overlook. Didn't know who he was (I was still new to sledding) but Bushy did the intro/explanation. We tried to get him to go off and he said...nope thats why I still ride everyday and don't have a broken back. Had to respect the perspective.

So Boondock went off first pretty far out...I nudged myself off the edge and was happy to stick the landing. We pulled back up to Chris and his group and he proceeded to start his sled...circle around and fly off...almost full speed....then in mid air leaned over the bars looked back and us and gave us the head nod ( like....did you really think I would let you out do me) and stuck it almost halfway down the hill.

Nice enough guy.....definitely seemed like he knew what he was doing ;)
