SPI Pistons

There has to be a few people who run the SPI pistons without problems. Every single one can't be bad. Let's hear how many miles trouble free you have got from them.

Lot of people on Snowest are running them trouble free. Just not on the 900's because they are an exact copy of the 05 piston which looses it's skirt if it fails and destroys your engine. Not worth the risk to run them to same 60 to 100 and end up costing you an entire engine.

Ive run them on two rmk 900 never had a problem with probably 1500 miles on each engine

I have 1500 miles on the stock 05 pistons too but I will not put another set in. The problem isn't that they can't work, it's that if you do have a failure instead of just ruining the cylinder the Skirts break off and destroy the whole engine.

Just checked, stock 06 pistons will run you 91 -99 each depending on where you get them. SPI pistons are 95 on ebay. So you save less than $100 by skimping on one of the most important pieces in your engine. Go ahead and do it if you want. You may just end up with this in 10 miles. Not worth the risk for me, not even if the 06 pistons were $200 each and they were giving the SPI's away for free.

RUN 06 POLARIS PISTONS, shouldnt even be a question. It shouldnt even cross your mind to you something that uses the same bad design as the piston they stopped using.
