That's a gusher by Colorado standards! I have a 1500 gallon cistern with a float switch to run the well pump and a pressure tank inside. I think I am around 25 gallons per hour.
If you can, install a ball valve between the cistern and the pressure tank so if your power fails you can still fill buckets. Also, I had another float switch installed so that if my water level drops to less than 75% an exterior light by my cistern comes on telling me there is a problem before I am completely out of water. It sucks to find out that your cistern is empty in the middle of a shower!
