Sparks Breaking??!

This season did just about 900 miles on the factory plugs then I fouled one, so swapped them both out with new NGK 9iex and didnt take long(100 miles) and one broke on pto side, put in 2 new 9es plugs and the very next day it broke as well on the pto. Swapped to champion and put just over 300 miles to finish the season and all good.
I also wondered is this a harmonics issue, but the motor is the smoothest 2 stroke ive driven especially with the balanced primary. Doo run a bosch plug on the etec's(i think).
If it is a deto issue you would think it wouldnt take to long to loose the locating pin and wreck an engine. Time will tell.

Lots of info here.

I can't help but wonder if the vibe's from the pork chop crank are at play here as well. I saw Steve post a pic of a broken Champion plug and a good friend of mine who I fully trust as a great tuner reported the same thing.

I have not had this issue but have been running BREYA's...

So this thread is apparently ongoing to some extent, my 18 with a can only tko'd i believe it was the pto plug, and the porcelain fell into the cylinder and smashed up the crown a little bit. I replaced the plugs, and rode it like 300 more miles or so and it finally failed, idk if they where related or not. My one thing i was thinking about, is there any chance our injectors are getting dirty causing to not provide a good consistent pattern of fuel? Could cause detonation if it was only occasionally. That said put about 1k miles on my 2019 pro this year and everything was cherry.

After 3000 kms I am starting to see some clutch wear that is noticeable with extra vibration and noise. No plug failures here but could something like this actually break porcelain?

Try a brisk lr12zc. Bet it does better than an e3 (alot) as well as they are high quality and inspected. I have never had a plug failure been useing the 12s for years now.

Huge difference on carbed sleds but with the amount Of problems you guys are haveing, try some out and see what ya think. I run them in all sleds and besides a miss order of 3 14s (hotter index vs ngk, so 12=9 14=8) the only fouled plug or brisk failure has been from either loosing the screw in tips Or that ONE fouled plug i posted. If i had a use for that heat range I'd bet i could scrape that piston crown off and re use that plug again! Talking 6 different aleds over the last 8 seasons or so.
