Does the Poo belt have same width as Gates poly chain?
Is the Poo belt Carbon and is it 1.5 inches wide like the Gates belt?
You bring valuable info. One thing i notice is the 'Do NOt Backbend "is strange, Thats exactly what the 3C tensioner does..... Also is the inside of the poo belt Blue like the standard Gates Carbon belt?Byeatts,
I believe the 2013 PRO RMK belt is 36mm.
It is a carbon fiber reinforced belt.
I believe it is a Poly Chain® GT® Carbon™ belt but I have no confirmation of this from Polaris as of yet.
The graphic is to show proper belt handling methods... This goes for any of the Carbon cogged belts... It was the only graphic that I had available to me... According to Gates, this also goes for wider belts... like superchargers, primary and secondary drive belts... and the skinny belts like on the Gates Carbon drive bicycles.
Being employed in the "test world", I find it difficult to believe that an item like this belt....something the mfr has been building (similarly) for decades, always improving materials and assembly processes, putting their product through rigorous test and torture BEFORE it is ever offered to the public or even consider manufacturing a product that cannot EASILY survive simple things like bending/twisting/or similar. I would be curious to know their test methods.....testing is typically THE worst possible scenario + more....then a safety factor of ??? 200-400% ?? This belt must be able to take some abuse! IMO something is goofy with these belt failures.....these belts are proven tough in many applications from what I can tell, so there is either a defect or something causing the failure that we are missing. JMHO-

Paul... You would think so, huh... but I also know Drag race guys that treat their blower belts with kidd gloves.
The info and pic are from Gates, not Polaris.
The pic above of the belt that was stored with the drive belt... I'm not sure I'd run that one???
Good eye Byeatts, The inside of the Polaris belt is black.
The CMX drive, below, uses the Gates Carbon belts... all black... I believe that not all of the Gates Carbon GT's are Blue inside... but hey, I could be wrong. OEM's can often order things in custom specs.
The C3 tensioner is a back-belt tensioner.. not considered ideal by Gates.. they prefer inside tensioners. The C3 is new this year for the Polaris.. their Ski Doo drives worked well from what I've heard , but had a the major difference of NOT having the braking loads borne by the belt.
I the C3 design is well thought out... Crossing my fingers for the long-term in the consumers hands, on the PRO!!

Perhaps a secure bracket mounting under the hood, In a back pack it will constantly get squished, bent, pulled out ectAK, I agree with you on this...
BUT...
This thread was simply put up to point out handling/storage/transport cautions that owners may want to take with spare QucickDrive belts IF THEY HAVE A SPARE QuickDrive belt that they want to carry or store in their trailer/shop.
I'd like to keep this related to storage/handling/transporting the QuickDrive belt if possible.
