Spare Pro chassis..thinking about building a 136"

So I have a spare chassis at my shop and I have been thinking about building a mid-length Pro for those spring days. I have a monoblock 800 carbed motor that will bolt right in, spare pro exhaust, front suspension..I would have to buy some various parts but it wouldn't be too expensive to build.

I have a couple concerns about carb/airbox fitment so I will have to figure that out. I haven't taken any measurements yet but I know it's going to be tight. Some airbox modding will take place most likely.

I am planning on shortening the 155" tunnel and U'ing the cooler. Maybe have Power Addiction build me a double-pass? (hint hint Brad) for a little more cooling capacity.

Does anyone know the stance differences, if any, between the switchback/rush steering hoop, and rmk/assault steering hoop and posts? I will have to buy those pieces so I would like to know beforehand which parts to order.

I will need to buy all of the drivetrain parts, so if anyone knows anyone selling Pro chaincase, driveshaft, chain, gears, etc..let me know?

I will be posting some pics of the build as its get under way and progress from there. If anyone has any good ideas, suggestions, criticism..feel free to chime in.

Interesting.

How big of a 136" would you put under it? Competition style with stiff paddles for spring snow hook up and launch?

I already have a 155 Pro assault and I think a mid length sled would be fun. I do have a spare 144x2.5 track though..Although I really was considering the new 137x2.25, or a 141 with a setback on 136 rails. I'll make some decisions in the following weeks and get some pics going

Whatever you decide on track length it should be a blast to ride. Can't wait to see pictures of the build.

Chad what are you thinking in terms of rear suspension? I'm worried that this will be a serious hang up on how things behave. Getting those rear suspension mounting brackets in the exact right spot on an unknown program will be a super challenge.

We do a lot of skid mounting for customers and we have a pretty solid program down. I think what will happen is in the first stage of mounting and testing, I will use a temporary, large rear suspension bracket with a few mounting options, drill another hole up front for 2 options, and just go out and ride with the appropriate tools to change the mounting positions. It will take a ride or two to dial in but I don't see it being too much of a challenge. After that I will have some nice, permanent rear brackets CNC'd for the finish.

As for skids I have been considering doing a 141" with a crossfire float skid, but I hate the way those skids ride. I would like to do something light and the current IQ-based 136" skids are not in the same weight class as the float skid, but they do perform better.
