Spare Gas Tank Options

I am a huge advocate of the Mountain Addiction Track Rack System. Like stated many times above, it just flat works, and not having to deal with straps is the nicest part. With that said here are the key points that I have found with the system that I like and some simple ideas to aid in the break in process.

~ The System is Universal, there are several set-up options. (See Below)
~ The system is sled specific so it is meant to be flawless on the mounting.
~ You will notice that for the storage options, although it is a polyester bag, the actual tub of the bag is rigid waterproof plastic, it is actually a can with top cut off, and it sits 1" above the melting water of the tunnel and heat exchanger. You will not have wet material in your bag. I have used other "waterproof bags" but in the end the melting water that they are sitting in all day gets inside. I personally store camera lenses and my body inside them, thats how much i trust the water efficiency.
~ Comes in several color options.
~ When installing, the initial fit is TIGHT to say the least, get some pledge, or pam out of the kitchen, spray the bottom of the cans and install and take off around ten times. After this point the material is deburred and is a stiff, but rather easy on and off application, ensuring that they dont just pop off.
~ One thing to note is that you make sure you get both sides in the rails, I have seen countless people only get one side slid in and then complain when the force of a bump and lever action of a full gas can pulls one side off and the can is then sitting in the trail. THis is user error, not product.
~ Also, you would think it is common sense to install the retainer cotter pin in the rail but numerous times I see people use the can, empty it and then slide it back on and get sidetracked and whala, can slides off on the way home.

Can Sizes and Bag Options

~ (2) 1.3 Gallon Cans
~ Combo 1.3 Gallon Can and 1.3 Gallon Storage Bag
~ (1) 3.3 Gallon Can
~ (1) Low Profile Storage Bag
~ (1) High Profile Storage Bag

And most tunnels if you so desire can be fitted with two sets of track racks for the ultimate in storage and fuel capacity.

Although, Note that the tunnel of the pro is only good for 15 Lbs. at the rear, and if you have a bunch of bags and fuel storage bolted to it and your tunnel fails, look for your dealer to be weary...

My personal thought is that most people use fuel in the West for emergency or for getting out. I use the Combo kit, enought fuel to get me out in a bind and good waterproof storage for the camera. They fit tight against the rear of the seat and leave ample tunnel exposed for top cooling of the coolers and not much weight behind the drop brackets.

And, the best part is the price. Half the cost of almost anything out there on the market that is designed to be better than a can and a strap. Check them out at the Boise show this weekend for specials, I know they will be there, but get them quick as colors are beginning to be limited as they have sold over 500 units this year.

Just curious as to how far back we can mount the gas racks on the tunnel. i have a boss seat on my 155 and it doesnt leave a whole bunch of room on the tunnel so it would be mounted closer to the bumber. will this put to much stress on the tunnel or should it be ok?

Some tunnels are cracking at the back, I would put the gas right behind the seat.

I used my old Rev can painted back. Remove the seat support and trim the plastic under the seat the two straps to hold seat down. I like it cause it keeps the weight forward.

Very slick!
So you arent using the seat supports?

Also, where did you get the black number plate for the panels? Or is it paint?

Support is on the shelf. Tank supports seat well. Even roode a skier two up for a few miles and no troubles.

Tunnel and panels got a carbon fibre wrap that rocks.

DO NOT mount a gas can at the rear of the tunnel... The pro RMK tunnel is rated for 15 lbs mounted behind the seat... STICK TO THAT... If you have a 2.5 or 3 gallon can OR 2 1.5 gal... then mount them up against the seat support or you will probably have trouble.

Polaris will not cover damage from overloading the tunnel on a PRO RMK.

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, but shipping to Norway is about $100. and here is a pic of my sled with the arcticfx wrap on it and the indicator with markings from arcticfx. Jordan and crew do a great job, I can get the tank wraps for you also. If you have any questions, feel free to even call me at 507-236-4081.
