Southern Bighorns Conditions/Pics 2009-10

dang I was up there Friday and I can't believe you were able to ride sat. Snow is really thin. You can still atv on the south end. Hopefully this snowstorm coming through dumps good to really open up the sledding.

Was up tuning today. Enough to tune if you pick your spots and know the area. This was on Canyon Creek.

Dont fool yourself about what the pictures look like. You cannot ride the southern side yet. We only found just a few small places to tune on your sled. We drug our carbides on dirt most of the time even on the roads. If you want to go tune you better know somewhere close to where you unload that the sun never hits.

It has been snowing lightly almost every day for the past week. No major accumulations and the temps have been very cold as low as -30F at night with very little wind east of the pass. The snow is all fluff and has no base. We are behind in snow this year and need a bunch to catch up to normal for this time of year. We can still drive in and out of our home but Johnson County did close the Hazelton road at the top of the first hill yesterday. If you use our snow parking area off Hazelton Road please be very careful pulling trailers up the hill as it is snow packed, becomes icy with use and park so others can access and use the parking area also..... thanks....bill

anyone riding this weekend? thinking about going up but dont have a set of wheels:eek: trying to convince my mom to let me borrow the truck:rolleyes:

snow

Boy we got a lot of snow. Its has got to be at least two inches deep. Where it drifted. Weather man says 60% chance of very little tomorrow and then sun for the next 9 days. Any one want to go 4-wheeling?

Heading up tomorrow hopefully the snow has gotten better. Its kinda sad that the hills have more snow then the horns!!

Some pictures from riding Friday...The Big Horns have no snow I have never seen so many rocks or grass ever..If you go riding be careful
