South Cle Elum Ridge

I have a friend I take riding on occassion. He would like a fairly smooth trail ride tomorrow. What trail conditions can I expect on the South Cle Elum Ridge tomorrow? I think we will come in via Woods & Steel Staging area.

 well if the wind would die down it should be o k ,, if you try to go around windy pass I think you will hit a lot of drifts, and some of them could be good sized,,, we have had several inches of snow and the wind has been blowing for the last 5 hours,,,we even have drifts on our road.............you could go to the top of wood and steel and hang a left and head for peoh point, there are several loops over in that area that you could make..............

Yep, been snowing hard all evening. Maybe go up the 3350 road and drop down into the Taneum to get away from the drifts. Should be nice riding, I'll be back out in that area Thursday........Let us know how it was?

I rode the windy pass loop from woods and steele on Sunday. It wasn't bad as the groomer had come down on Saturday night. We got a few inches of new snow here in Ellensburg last night so I would imagine that they received some too.

Thanks

Thank you for your responses. I-90 was such a mess, trucks chaining up in North Bend, we bailed off at Crystal Springs. The groomer had worked the north end trails on Sunday night and about 5 - 10" of very dry powder fell on them Monday. Plus, plenty of fluff piled up in any play areas east of old growth trees. I will try for the South Cle Elum ridge again when the freeway is in better shape.
