Wow looking like horns getting a good dump. This should help get some base built up so not bust stuff up ! Thats the one thing we do not do is lie and say snow is great when its not ! I sled and am not going to lie to people and ruin there trip to rent a few rooms. So keep snow dancing as it helping!

Hey Revrider07 if you say you will bring out private stock does that mean beer ! If it booze i can have ice and what you like to mix with it ready when you come out ! We got lots of water also and it very cheap and makes clear ice also. More snow will come soon to.

Hey earthbulge you saw right as we did do lots of work and more clean up at motel last summer and fall. I will be out there sunday so grab your beer and come on out. Your snow dance working good so keep it up !
What do the south horns see for traffic? Is it usually as busy as the northern horns? And what is the snow looking like in comparison to Cory's from highcountry updates?
I'm just curious in general what the big difference between the north and south is. Cuz I feel like there is less traffic in the south so if the snow is somewhat similar then it sounds like the south would be optimal.

I would say that the south horns have lots less people than north. I always tell people to drive on sunday and sled during the week. I have been there with friends and saw three other sleds in three days. You start to think or dream that you own the mountains as so few people there.The snow difference goes back and forth depending on the storms. The other reason the south has less people is that the past owners of the lodges ran them into the ground and treated every one so bad that they all went to the north horns were there the places were much better run. It takes lots of time to get people to come back after they have spent there hard earned cash for a trip and then be treated like crap. The south horns are closer also for the folks coming from the east. So keep the snow danceing going as its helping alot as it is getting better every week. Im out there sunday for all of march and cant wait for the big dumps that happen then and in april.

This is burr and im not out there yet like i said in above post. It will be tuesday now as i had some more good luck to add to my wonderful winter. Went to steak house for supper thursday night as wife in az and i wanted some good steak. So i go there and park and when i got out i was on some good ice and said to my self be carefull when come back to van. While having supper we had a bit of snow. So after a great supper and three tall beers time to go home. So out i go in big hurry get to van and am reaching for door and down i go. I layed on ground for bit thinking what a dumb *** i am for falling on ice and wondering why i hurt bad. Got up and thought this not good so go home and get in bed and then my left shoulder hurt real bad. So i text a friend a ask if he could come over and take to doc i had called and said i am coming in and that i think my shoulder is dislocated. So they call the doc who knows me well . So after xrays he says nothing broke so i reset shoulder. I was not ready for the jerk but im sure many heard me scream very loud! Doc said i was to tence and they need to put me under so im not so tence. At that time i wish i had drank lots more beer! So they call the doc to put me under who was at steak house with his wife and we had talked for a bit. So he comes in and puts me under and they pulled shoulder back in. My friend said he heard it pop in from ten feet away. I wake up and am dumb for a bit feeling real happy. Doc who put me under said how many beers did you have and as i was going to tell him the truth he changed the subject ! Only three tall ones was answe but did not get to tell truth. So since sept i have had hernia fixed hammer toe on each foot broke and fixed plus big toe fused on left foot and now dislocated sholder i am down to right arm being only limb good on myself. At least it arm that does the rear end wiping job so all not bad. So see doc on monday for im sure more great news that i can ride next week when friends coming to stay with me and at motel . Ya sure! So to answer your? on how the snow is and if base ok i would say come on out as told by others as i have not even seen my sleds since nov 10. So if you see a old gray hair cripple in bar in ten sleep say hi and we can have a drink and you can tell me how good the snow is cause i might not get to ride this year. Any buddy have yamaha with power steering for one arm cripple. Now how to drive stick shift truck out there with one arm ! I best get a thinking on that now.
Hi Burr, are you are out there yet? Lets here a snow report when you arrive I just put 49 miles on a foot of fresh here today no much terrain though.
How about a new snow report in the southern horns? Any fresh snow or did it melt?

Just got back from 4 days in southern horns, one of the best trips in 30 years as far as snow conditions. Great off trail riding just keep her pinned! Fast well groomed trails to the play areas, good food, refreshments, lodging and parking at Deer Haven, gas nearby at Meadowlark Lake, more choices for lodging at http://www.tensleepmotel.com/, with libations & food at Ten Sleep 20 minutes away. Go for it!!
