Sounds like Rev Limiter??

Just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this... It is a 04 F7 carb model, we were hitting big drifts and deep powder when the sled would no longer go over 6000 rpm, sounds just like a rev limiter. Otherwise runs good up to 6000. Anyone have any ideas? Any help is very very appreciated.

Not the rev limiter. Sounds like a power valve problem. Maybe a broke cable or the servo motor grenaded.

Thanks for the reply, I know its not the rev limiter, as that sled doesnt have one, sounds like one though. Just had the power valves out and cleaned them, everything seems ok there.

Were you running iso in your fuel? Lots of deep pow can freeze things up quick....

brought it back in the shop at the end of the day, added iso to the tank, and will let it thaw out and see what happens, thanks for the ideas

If your hood is getting covered with snow when going through drifts than that's your problem, the Firecat's pull air from the beak on top of the hood. People will install a few "Bulleyes" in the airbox to draw air when this happens.
