It seems HB 3359 died on the House floor last year? Has anyone found that they are trying to rekindle it again in Washington? I can't find any info to confirm It's almost certain that a similar Bill will try and surface again with the new left administration!

I just found this out to. the bill was defeated but you know it will be back again!!! Obama has made comments and recent judicial decisions have been made to keep our freedoms to bear arms - even in Washington, DC proper. BUT don't think the lefties won't back door us - they will. The constitution says nothing about the right to own/purchase/use ammunition. This will be their next attack.

Can't we turn the tables on the left? I'm SOOOO tired of the constant attacks on my property rights, gun rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and land use rights... I truly believe the real problem is that the Lefties have too much time on their hands because precious few of them actually have real jobs. The rest of the country (the hard working right) is busy working and doing the best to keep this failing economy afloat, which keeps us from having the actual time to fight the good fight. I'm sorry, but my extra time is spent volunteering at church, raising a family, volunteering on a few boards (someone has to balance out the crazy lefties!!!), and trying to get some pulls in on my sled with some good friends.

What do these lefties do all day that they have so much time to try and ruin the things we care about???

Funny - people that consider themselves "right leaning" give over DOUBLE to charities than do those that consider themselves "left leaning"... I'd venture to guess that most crooks and theives are liberals too. They vote to take away from those that work hard, they probably live out their convictions of stealing too. Hmmm - and now they want my guns??? Why am i surprised??? come and take my ammo and my guns. I DARE YOU.

It was the "right wing nut jobs" relatives that left Europian Monach Rule braved the Atlantic in a crowded wood sail boat to come to this country to carv out a country free of political opression. They fought a war to win you the right to call me and others like me "right wing nut jobs". So, I am going to wear the lable "right wing nut job" as a badge of honor and pride.

Sorry for the long post, but it needed to be made.

My family has worked in Coal mines, steel plants, factories, worked in unions and run their own businesses their entire lives in Pennsylvania and they are all Liberals and proud Democrats. They aren't rich, they live paycheck to paycheck, nor are they sitting around on their asses worrying about taking away everything you love.

They all have served their country. My father was a Pearl Harbor survivor and fought in Guadalcanal during WWII. My grandfather and great uncles fought on the battle fields of France and Germany during WWI as well.

They all attend church, Lutheran, Catholic and even a buddhist in there too. They do volunteer work. They all contribute to charities.

They hunt deer and trap rabbits for sustinance, not for sport understanding there must be stewardship and balance in these activities. They own weapons for hunting and self-protection.

They have seen the destruction of wilderness for strip mining of coal and steel production. They have seen the damage caused by the pollution from these activities. They have gotten black lung, emphysema and cancers from exposure to these activities. They never want their children or grand-children exposed to this and that is why they fight to protect the environment, not to take away your property rights.

They completely understand the realities of crime and bad people in society, yet they choose to live in respect of those realities, not fear of them.

Hopefully you can put aside incorrect accusations, stereotypes, and assumptions about other hardworking, real americans that pray, bleed and suffer just like you.

Only then will you be able to have a rational discussion on the subject and maybe come to understand you have more in common with liberals than you think.

I'm not ignorant... i understand that there are normal people on both sides of the fence and aren't "wack jobs" and that give back to the community...

BUT - your family sound like conservatives to me. This always astounds me BTW. Union construction workers, union factory workers, union etc all act like right leaning people and are in to activities and sports that usually define people that vote towards the right, but they vote left... This makes NO sense to me. They are basically voting themselves out of existence???

Kodos to your family for being war veterans (they deserve the highest honor this country can give). But you seem to be missing this big picture (and maybe your family is too). The left wants to stop big factories from being built, wants to stop ALL hunting, wants to stop ALL gun use, and wants to CONTROL what you do on your land and on the land that belongs to all of us. Don't be fooled by their "kool-aid" and stop believing what all of the union reps tell them (they're just after the power and getting voted back in).

PS. I work for a union shop and am VERY proud of the work my guys (and gals do). I'm just not about the farce that UNION = LEFT. I'm speaking in general terms here too - so just because your family is one way, don't think that the "rest" of the left is too. THEY AREN'T.

No one in my family has drank any kool aid. They learned this all from first hand experience. They are not lockstep in sync with any political party. They speak up and work to make a change, not complain.

Lefties are not about stopping factories. They are about building them with the protections in place to protect us from the damage they cause and to be the most efficient use of resources.

I know all about coal power plants. The technology exists to make them better for the environment, yet the industry fights to do it on the cheap because they are driven by the bottom line. In this case they are not competing with anyone else, so what is their excuse for doing it cheap versus safe? To save the electrical consumer money, while destroying our lungs and exposing us to mercury from the coal? The cost of that far outweighs any immediate gains in lower electrical rates.

I bet you like the regulation called buidling codes such as the electrical codes that are required for your house to be built. You would not want your child electrocuted because the cheaper was done instead of the safer way.

It is about balance. For centuries it was done one way and now people are trying to change the ways based on what we have learned. Some cling to that original way as the only way and cannot accept that there may exist other ways they will benefit everyone in the long run.

Granted there are extremist on BOTH sides of the center.

PS. Building codes are different subject entirely. their purpose if for LIFE and PROPERTY safety.

Thanks to everyone for looking at this and posting you comments, I was hoping it would stir up some sh** and glad it did.
This is just another way to creat bigger government and wast money that we make and pay in taxes. This is a useless act and accomplished nothing in the way of public safty in my opinion. I will do nothing more than create a financial hardship on the consumer and the manufacturer and create more red tape to wade through just to buy a LEGAL product. Like 600ps's story about traping pigs (which I really liked) this is just one more piece of the fence to keep us all traped under big brother's thumb. Thanks for all the good info.
