So, this is more of a ramble than anything else I guess. Three letters....TPS. Holy cow!! I spent an intense 4 hours last night trying to get a base line and then recalibrating the tps, and I thought I had it, but it runs like crap. I built the tps setting tool(that was the easy part), and was stoked to go home and tinker on it. At the end of my last ride, my sled started running like garbage. I thought I was running out of fuel, but was not. Loaded it up on the truck and got her home, and started to check things out. Reverse wasn't engaging, idled really low, to the point of shutting down. Weird, just out of the blue like that. It was an epic day with deep snow, and I ran her hard. She likes it that way. Is it possible that the tps got thrown out of adjustment?? What a pain in the *** this is. Gotta make sure you have a good 9volt batt, a good 5volt regulator, and a good meter, and lots of patience. A 10 min adjustment is only a dream, unless you don't count the time it takes to remove complete exhaust, slp intake, ypipe, and hood. My fingers are still aching. Also I found out that you can adjust the tps with only removing pipe. You can access the screws not too badly. But you have to take everything off and hold the throttle bodies in hand to get a base line setting. Which is a chore in itself. Yikes. So moral of the story, perhaps I have a fried tps sensor or a flat spot, I don't know. I"m going to take a 4 hour drive to the dealer on friday to get it plugged in for a diagnostic check. Never been to the dealer before. Time to get my cherry popped!!!, or my wallet emptied. Damn! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, a road trip is planned for this weekend. So a lot is on the line. I feel better I typed this.
