Something's not quite right.

I was out trail riding yesterday and was clipping along at 90mph and everything was good until I let off. It was almost like it hit det but it wasn't. It ran like it was lean until I got back into the throttle hard again. It would only do it if I was backing off the throttle then it would take a second or two to get power again. Lots of power otherwise. No codes but I sure dont want a burn down this early in the year. Have 900 miles on her.

I have also experienced the same thing crossing a lake. Wide Open, letting off every few seconds. Stock pro 13 besides a GGB mountain can.

Happened to me too, but on the lake and with a stock standard 600 rmk 2012...I tought it was because I hitted 8400 rpm because of the low amount of snow on the lake but no.

RPM on deep snow is 8150 now and still bugging a little bit while WFO and let off 2-3 seconde and jump on the trigger again.

That bug appeared the third time a ran it this year...Wasnt bugging down before.

I really don't know what it is...

Ya it did it once early this year then nothing for quite some time. Blamed it on bad fuel. For sure not this time. Checked and throttle wasnt iced up, no codes or flashing lights. Just weird that it would show up on throttle down. Still could be tss maybe. Its been -35*c for a couple weeks and stored outside could be icing up anywhere. Ill thaw it out and see I guess.

possible lean condition

I don't know about CFI sleds, but on sleds with carbs. If your going wide open for some time and let off the gas it causing a lean condition. Just sucks in air and no fuel. I've had it happen to me a couple of times over the years. Now when I let off the throttle I blip it a few times while slowing down to get a little fuel in the cylinders. I do this on my 13 Pro RMK too. Maybe someone who build 2 strokes on the forum can chime in and explain this.

I would think that you are correct about being lean as the throttle position sensor shows zero or 10 percent throttle position where there is very little fuel being delivered. The pipe is still hot and motor is still pulling a lot of air through it which probably causes a lean condition until the ECM and everything else gets on the same page. This would be for a brief moment. I am not an engineer, This is just a thought. Hope this makes sense. Chopping the throttle a few times wide open when coming down from this kind of speed could possibly eliminate this.

Well it ended up being something freezing up. Thawed it out and put gasline antifreeze in and never acted up once. Whether it was the throttle block or fuelines. So all is good again. Well until I get a front shock warrantied because it hangs up in one spot.

Valves

If it happens again check your valves. Just had some valve issues , bellow on one side had broken spring and on the other the bellow nut came loose and then stripped out. 3000 mi. on a 2010 switch six.

I was suspecting valves as well but they werent that dirty for 1000 miles on ves gold. Go figure and factory oil ratio is around 40:1. And pistons look good for 1000 hard miles. 120psi a side.

I had the same thing happen on my 06 Switchback 600. The valve dropped down striking the piston on the down stroke. It cost me a hole top end.

brapp . I know you think your crap is amusing. but its old and past annoying. yeah yeah I know pros have crappie motors. coming of an o9 m1000 I'd still take a pro over an m. there 10 times better than that pos was riding before. some came on here and asked for help with a problem he had and all you can come up with is yet another lame a## comment. so take your dumb jokes and go back to the cat section and work on your act with your buddy's. maybe you could come up with some thing that funny and fresh instead of the stuff you think is funny now. there are legitimately funny people on here and unfortunate for us your not one of them. cheers:face-icon-small-coo

That's your opinion! at least I'm not thin skinned like you and go around giving people red thumbs! lighten up a little, life is short.especially for a guy y@our age. tool

sorry braaap I guess my skin is a little thin today , maybe the lack of Utah snow makes me cranky, in no time the snow will be back along with my attitude.:face-icon-small-coo
