Pull your skid out... dissassemble and clean ALL the old grease from it.
Then re assemble it with Redline CV-2 grease (you can get it at NAPA)
This grease is Super high quality and does not get thick and hamper skid action in the cold.
The stock skid... which is really good... is still just a bare aluminum cross shaft in a bare steel tube with NO bushings.... just the grease... and it gets DIRTY and sticky...
IMO... the stock skid, if you ride hard, should be disassembled and cleaned and re greased with the CV-2 at least once during your season and again when you start up next year.
You would not believe how much of a diff this makes.
Simply greasing does not get out all that aluminum oxide and black gunk that builds up in there...
Protect your investment with a bit of PM.
Check all the bolts, hyfax and cross-shafts for wear... replace if necessary.
